Exhibition Design
Through the exhibition design I intend to guide visitors to the location of the Constitution Room (the room containing all of New Zealand's founding documents) and take visitors on a visual and textual journey to the conception of these documents and the key people involved within them.
Glass architectural interventions act as a story telling device where guests are guided to and from the Constitution Room in sync with events leading to the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi (pre-Treaty), and lead out of the Constitution Room after the signing of the Treaty (post-Treaty).
Conceptually the idea was driven by the notion of a book and contains a foot-noting system which relates the textual timeline to the visual timeline. Visitors have the opportunity to absorb as much or as little information as they wish.
